Lincs to the Past
Lincs to the Past is an exciting new site from Lincolnshire County Council. It will serve as a cultural gateway to collections held in the county’s museums including marriage certificates, birth certificates and images of artefacts. They already have over 5000 images available in a digital format on their current Cultural Collections website and the new site launching later this year will have over 500,000 images available.
The Lincs to the Past site will be aimed at both dedicated researchers and casual browsers, with a timeline of available records going all the way back over 2,000 years. Residents of Lincolnshire will be able to browse through their ancestors’ lives and piece together their family tree.
The site will be easy to use with a timeline to browse through the past and a filtered search powered by SOLR. Searching for items will be quick and easy with records, photographs and actual objects being shown as high quality images.
We are looking forward to the launch of this unique site and if you would like to know more about the technologies driving this solution – Webstructure.NET and SOLR – please contact us on 0207 766 9810
