Law Society Gazette launches new online directories

Continuing on from the successful re-launch of their website and launch of a new tablet web app, the Law Society has launched the online version of two of their main directories for the legal profession within the LSG website.

The Charity Explorer holds the descriptions and contact information of registered UK charities and can be used by lawyers to allow their clients to select those charities they wish to benefit from their legacies. The updated directory listings are printed in the latest editions of the Law Society Gazette Charity & Appeals Directory and the Spring Legacy Appeals Directory. The Legal Services Directory is now a purely online directory and contains information of different companies that supply a wide range of services to the legal profession. These services include overseas practices, barrister chambers, expert witnesses, and professional development and training programmes. Those organisations already listed within the two directories can enhance their entries by submitting articles that will appear alongside the company details and provide readers with further information.

The directories are powered by Source, an innovative combination of our market-leading CMS, Webvision, and Marketplace Directories technologies. The two work together to provide a range of packages for companies to choose from, each with a different level of value and reach. Companies can upload articles to their listing via the self-listing functionality, which feeds directly into LSG’s editorial workflow queue where they can be reviewed and/or moderated before they go live. Autonomy’s IDOL enterprise search technology has been integrated to provide an effortless search tool combining traditional keyword search with guided categorised navigation so users can easily find what they are looking for. The directories also act as a lead generation tool for the listed companies through the ‘request information’ form, which interested readers can fill out and will then be directly contacted regarding their inquiry.
