Abacus has been working with Thomson Reuters since 2004 in the UK, USA and the Far East. We provide the editorial production and web content management platform for the investment banking publications and develop the IFR, buyouts and private internal group of websites.
One of the key objectives was to consolidate technology and reduce costs by migrating the Breaking Views website on to the Webvision platform. Other technology used included FAST enterprise search, bespoke paywall technology developed by Abacus and our Dispatch product for email broadcasting.
A key new feature is an email alert mechanism which tells the users about upcoming stories and, if they record an interest, automatically alerts them when the stories are written and available. Thomson Reuters has taken advantage of our new technology in order to create flexibility for its editors.
